In march 2023, I graduated from the University of Amsterdam. During my bachelors in History, I focused on cultural history and the history of social relations. During my masters in Military History my interest focused on how culture affects war and the different ways in which war affect society and social relations. Specifically, I specialized in the cultural history of the Laws of War, the military culture of armies and constructions of masculinity. I wrote my thesis on military deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan as part of the Global War on Terror, the war crimes that occurred and the perception of the participating Dutch soldiers on their contribution and deployment. Since February 2020, I have been working for the IISH. First as a student assistant on the FNV Labour Union Project, and since April 2023 as a research assistant on projects affiliated with labour union activities.
