Matteo Calabrese

Visiting Fellow

Matteo Calabrese is a doctoral researcher at the University of Luxembourg at the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C2DH). He holds a Research Master's degree in History from the University of Leiden and a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Utrecht. His research focuses on financial history (investment funds, holdings, financial intermediaries) and long-run economic history (history of labour, economic growth determinants, and comparative analysis within the Eurasian block). His work has been published in Historical Methods, Brill RDJ, Italian Economic Journal, and is forthcoming in Contemporary European History (on the history of Luxembourg-domiciled holding companies during the Interwar years). In 2022, he worked on a research project on the history of mutual funds in Taiwan, after being awarded the S.T.R.A. fellowship by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education.
