Iliana Tintori Reyes is a PhD researcher at the International Institute of Social History. She studied her bachelor’s degree in Ethnohistory at the National School of Anthropology and History in Mexico. Later she completed a master’s degree in history at the University of Guanajuato (cum laude) and a master’s degree in Latin American Studies at the University of Amsterdam. Her PhD is part of the project Voices of Resistance (ERC) with Matthias van Rossum and Filipa Ribeiro da Silva as her supervisors, where she will focus on the Spanish empire and the slave trade with Philippines in the early modern period. She is specialized in archival research regarding inquisitorial sources in the New Spain and Spain (XVI-XVII centuries).
