Low Countries Journal of Social and Economic History - Editorial policies

The journal publishes articles and reviews in the fields of social and economic history in the broad sense, with a particular but not exclusive interest in the low countries. The journal has a strong interest in the manner in which people in the past have interacted with each other and given shape to social, economic, cultural and political patterns. Key notions here are economic growth, power & (in)equality, group cultures, networks, identity, gender, ethnicity, ecology, trade & technique, entrepreneurship, labour & social movements.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Authors of articles published remain the copyright holders and grant third parties the right to use, reproduce, and share the article according to the Creative Commons license agreement.

Archiving Policy

Journal Archiving

All issues since 1970 are online available in open access. To ensure permanency of all publications, this journal utilises CLOCKSS archiving systems to create permanent archives for the purposes of preservation and restoration.

Self-archiving

This journal is registered as a SHERPA/RoMEO Blue journal.

Authors are explicitly encouraged to deposit their article in their institutional repository.

Article Fees

When publishing in TSEG – the Low Countries Journal of Social and Economic History authors are not required to pay any charges or fees, such as Article Processing Charges (APC), as the costs are currently covered by the International Institute of Social History.

TSEG/ Low Countries Journal of Social and Economic History is published by the International Institute of Social History and Stichting Het Nederlandsch Economisch-Historisch Archief as an online Open Access Journal in cooperation with Utrecht University Library Open Access Journals. The Journal is also printed by Uitgeverij Verloren.

History

TSEG was founded in 2004 as a merger and continuation of three Dutch journals of economic and social history: NEHA-Jaarboek voor economische, bedrijfs- en techniekgeschiedenis (1914-2004), the Tijdschrift voor Sociale Geschiedenis(1975-2004) and the NEHA-Bulletin(1986-2004).
