Timon de Groot

Researcher

Timon de Groot is researcher at the IISH. Currently he works on a history of the Dutch Labour Authority (Nederlandse Arbeidsinspectie). His previous work focused on the history of crime and punishment in Germany, flexible work arrangements in the Netherlands and the politics of natural gas extraction.
Timon de Groot obtained his MA in history (2013) and his MA in philosophy (2012) at University of Amsterdam, and his PhD in history (2018) at the Humboldt University of Berlin.
A book edition, based on his PhD research, will be published in April 2023 by Berghahn Books: Citizens into Dishonored Felons. Felony Disenfranchisement, Honor, and Rehabilitation in Germany, 1806-1933.
