International Review of Social History

The International Review of Social History is one of the leading journals in its field. It focuses on research in social and labour history from a comparative and transnational perspective, both in the modern and in the early modern period, and across periods. Besides research articles, it features surveys of new themes and subject fields, a suggestions and debates section, review essays and book reviews.

TSEG/The Low Countries Journal of Social and Economic History

TSEG is the Dutch-Flemish journal of social and economic history. It is an open access, peer-reviewed scientific journal with a strong interest in the manner in which people in the past have interacted with each other and given shape to social, economic, cultural and political patterns. TSEG is published online in open access at openjournals.nl and in print by Leuven University Press on behalf of the IISH.

Historical Life Course Studies

Historical Life Course Studies is the electronic journal of the European Historical Population Samples Network (EHPS-Net). It is the primary publishing outlet for research involved in the conversion of existing large European and non-European historical demographic databases into a common format, the Intermediate Data Structure, and for studies based on these databases. The journal publishes both methodological and substantive research articles.

Revista Latinoamericana de Trabajo y Trabajadores is a scholarly publication devoted to the history of labour, which aims to bring together research with diverse views and perspectives about and from Latin America. It is published twice a year, with contributions in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, and its articles are submitted to external reviewers with the double-blind peer review system. The journal is an initiative of the Red Latinoamericana de Trabajo y Trabajadores (REDLATT), with the support of the IRSH and the Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies.

On the Waterfront

On the Waterfront is the magazine of the Friends of the IISH. It is published twice a year, online and in print. It features, among others, presentations of new and notable collection acquisitions, and articles on the thematic presentations during the Friends' meetings, organized each year in January and in June.

IISH Research Papers

IISH-Research Papers is a pre-publication series which aims to highlight and promote socio-historical research and scholarship. This vehicle of publicizing works in progress or in a pre-publication stage is open to all labour and social historians. In this context, research by scholars from outside the IISH can also be disseminated as a Research Paper.

Biographical Dictionary of Socialism and the Labour Movement in the Netherlands (BWSA)

The digital version of the BWSA (in Dutch) contains more than 645 biographies of men and women who played a role in the labour movement in a broad sense: the well-known forerunners, as well as less prominent figures; socialists, liberals, anarchists, Catholics, communists and Christians, politicians, trade union administrators, freethinkers, suffragists, artists and many others.
