Volkskrant-IISH Thesis Prize 2023
Did you write a great thesis or do you know someone who did? Once again, de Volkskrant and IISH are looking for excellent theses on a historical subject. Students of disciplines other than history are also invited to submit. The IISH will give €1,500 to the winning thesis and de Volkskrant will publish an interview with the winner.
Requirements
The prize is intended for students who have written a master's thesis at a Dutch university (between September 1, 2022 and August 31, 2023) within the field of history or a thesis concerns a historical theme (national or international). In judging, the jury will pay attention to theses that are clearly innovative. For example, think of a new topic or an innovative approach to a topic that has already been researched before. Nominees are available for an interview with de Volkskrant and will pitch their thesis in person during the award ceremony.
Deadline for submissions: September 8, 2023.
Send two hard-copies of your thesis to: IISH, Cruquiusweg 31, 1019 AT Amsterdam, attn. Jacqueline Rutte. In addition, please also send a digital version of your thesis and a letter of recommendation from your thesis supervisor to: jacqueline.rutte@bb.huc.knaw.nl
