Hawra is currently completing her research master's degree in Colonial and Global History at Leiden University. Her research focuses on the early modern history of Arabs in the southwestern region of Iran, with a particular emphasis on the Banu Ka'b Arabs. Additionally, she has a keen interest in the history of other Arab communities in the Gulf region, especially the "Hula" Arabs. She attempts to study their history using sources from the Dutch East India Company (VOC).

Hawra is a strong advocate for inclusivity in archival and historical research. She is committed to amplifying the voices of marginalized peoples, whose stories often remain unheard in the world of archives and historical research. Through her work, she aims to bring about meaningful change in this regard.
