Rika is an archivist, librarian, and researcher. Her research deals with archival silences, especially within the Indonesian displaced archives in the Netherlands. In 2022, she received OnsArchief archival research fellowship for her research on the problematic custody, hidden narratives, and provenance of the Indonesian Left archives in the Netherlands. Rika worked as a journalist in Jakarta until she received a scholarship to study in Netherlands. She completed her MA in International Political and Economy and Development from International Institute of Social Sciences the Hague, an MA in Archival and Information Studies from the University of Amsterdam and obtained her PhD in international mobility and development from Utrecht University. Next to her work to improve the description of the Indonesian originated archives at the IISH, she also works as subject librarian at the University of Amsterdam.
