Daan van der Mark has been working as a student assistant in the SevenFrontiers project since March 2025. He studied History, specializing in economic history and has since followed the Research Master program Cities, Migration and Global Interdependence at Leiden University. Within his studies he focusses on the plantation industry, labour, and intra-Asian trade in Southeast Asia during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, as well as the decolonization of the Dutch Empire.
