Belarus // In Transition

A year after the rigged elections of 2020, while Belarusian intellectuals are targeted by Lukashenko’s regime, and the protest movement is silenced with oppression, we host a solidarity event and panel discussion on Belarus.

Belarusian and Dutch researchers and artists will discuss the Belarusian protest movement’s developments of the past year. Developments that may not be visible at first glance these days, when the repression is at its worst. From protest aesthetics to women’s emancipation, we will look into the long-lasting effects of the revolution on civil society in Belarus.

With Ellen Rutten, Olga Sparaga, Tasha Arlova, Maxim Tyminko, Lena Davidovich, Eef Vermeij.

The discussion will be moderated by Franka Hummels.
