In 2011, the 75th anniversary of the IISH was celebrated with, among other things, the exhibition Rebels with a cause, a selection from the unique collection brought together since the foundation of the Institute. The fascinating collecting history of one of the world's oldest and largest institutes in the field of social history was displayed in five themes: Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Near and Middle East, South and Southeast Asia, and Globalisation.
