Meenu Rabecca is a PhD researcher at the International Institute of Social History. Her doctoral research is part of the ERC-funded project Voices of Resistance, with Matthias van Rossum and Elisabeth Heijmans, and focuses on slavery in early modern Malabar (present-day Kerala). She holds an MA in Colonial & Global History from Leiden University as well as an MA in History from Pondicherry Central University, India. She also holds an MPhil from Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kerala, where her research examined the VOC's treaty-making politics in Cochin.
