Pepijn Trienekens is a PhD researcher at the International Institute for Social History and Radboud University. He obtained a Master’s degree in History at the Radboud University. His PhD is part of the project Work and Life under Slavery and Other Forms of Colonial Forced Labor in Relation to InsingerGilissen’s Predecessors. In his research, he focuses on shifting dynamics of control and resistance within the changing forced labour regimes of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
