Yvonne Scholten will talk about ten years of research for the website on Dutch volunteers in the Spanish Civil War, spanjestrijders.nl.
Almudena Rubio will talk about her book Las cajas de Amsterdam. Margaret Michaelis y Kati Horna en la Guerra Civil / The Amsterdam Crates. Margaret Michaelis and Kati Horna in the Spanish Civil War.
In addition, there will be a small exhibition of artefacts, letters and diaries from Dutch volunteers in the Spanish Civil War, as well as original brochures and drawings (including some by Jef Last) from the years 1936–1939. A new website will also be launched about the Spanish Civil War, its long-term consequences in Spain, and the Dutch volunteers in the Spanish Civil War and their descendants: spanje3639nu.nl.
The event is open to everyone, but please register via event@iisg.nl.
