Gijs Mulder, lecturer in Spanish language and culture at Radboud University, speaks about current developments in Spain regarding the remembrance of the Civil War. Almudena Rubio will talk about her book The Amsterdam Crates. Margaret Michaelis and Kati Horna in the Spanish Civil War.
In addition, there will be a exhibition of artefacts, letters and diaries from Dutch volunteers in the Spanish Civil War, as well as original brochures and drawings (including some by Jef Last) from the years 1936–1939. A new website will also be launched about the Spanish Civil War, its long-term consequences in Spain, and the Dutch volunteers in the Spanish Civil War and their descendants: spanje3639nu.nl.
