Besides the continuous work on the extension of the HSN and LINKS database and the EHPS Network, the HSN staff was engaged in three projects during 2017: GIANTS, collecting heights form militia registers, LONGPOP, employing two so-called Early Stage Researchers (ESR) and CLARIAH Cure which was directed at the improvement of the existing HSN database.
The IISH research group consists of around 10 senior researchers, added by a varying number of postdoc researchers and PhD students. In addition, the IISH receives Fellows, Honorary Fellows and Guest Researchers. All in all, the research group consists of 30-40 researchers.
The aim of this workshop will be to bring together economists, economic historians, and economic geographers with an academic interest in both the quantitative long-run regional process of industrialization, as well as the empirical and political conclusions one can derive from it.
