Marie Skłodowska-Curie Post-doc Positions: “Expression of Interest” for hosting Fellows at the International Institute of Social History in the Netherlands.

The International Institute of Social History in the Netherlands (IISH) invites postdoc fellows to apply together for postdoc funding in the context of the Marie Skłodowska Curie Individual fellowship scheme for EF (European Fellows).

IISH, a research institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (abbreviated: KNAW) is the world's leading institute in socio-economic history. This worldwide research is focused on the last five hundred years of globalization (1500-2000). Work is examined in all its manifestations, from clerical positions to domestic service and from volunteer work to entrepreneurship. The term labour relations denotes the multiplicity of power relations in the course of performing work, from employment to entrepreneurship, from family settings to partnerships, and from slavery to wage labour.

IISH co-operates with the Meertens Institute and Huygens ING in the KNAW Humanities Cluster. The three institutes share facilities, and have a shared Digital Infrastructure group, a Digital Humanities Lab and NL-lab.

IISH will offer support during the application procedure to candidates who would like to spend their Marie S. Curie fellowship at the Institute. In case of funding through the EU, the postdoc fellow will become employed at IISH for the duration of the project; receiving training and potential opportunities for further continuation of their international scientific career.
