Roel Burgler Papers

19 June 2019 - 11:11

In 2013 and 2014 we received the first batches of the collection of Roel Burgler.
Roel did his PhD on the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia (1990); participated in the Kabouterbeweging and edited the Kabouterkrant 1969-1974; travelled during his study to developing countries and became later a freelance journalist and photographer specialized in developing countries with focus on the Southeast Asian countries.
Apart from documentation on different Southeast Asian countries, and his own writings, the collection also contained minutes of meetings of the Solidariteitsgroep Thailand (Wageningen), of which we never had any documents before. Also included were recordings which were used for Dutch radio and interviews (to become available later this year)
At a later stage we hope to receive Roel's papers on the 'Kabouter' movement. [addition from 2019: these have been received in 2016]
