The IISH holds the complete archive of the Dutch Diamond Workers Union (ANDB). The union (1894) was a role model for the development of the trade union movement throughout the twentieth century.

The Historical Image Archive for Migrants (HBM) focuses on the creation of a representative collection of the history of migrants in the Netherlands. It is housed at the IISH in Amsterdam.

The acronym HiTiME stands for Historical Timeline Mining and Extraction. HiTiME concentrates on the development of a text analysis system for the recognition and extraction of historical events and facts from a variety of primary and secondary historical sources.

The rich history of the Dutch trade unions can now be found on the new website vakbondsverhalen.nl. How did that site come about?

The Dutch journalist Leonard Ornstein and IISH-researchter Dennie Oude Nijhuis produced a series of interviews with Wim Kok in 2016 and 2017 about his time at the trade union movement, as a director at the Bouwbond NVV, and at the trade unions NVV and FNV. The recordings have been added to the IISH collection and have been made available to the public.
