Hoe het daar nou echt mee zit is het thema van deze middag, georganiseerd door het IISG in samenwerking met de Wilhelmina Drucker Fundatie (WDF) in het kader van het Wilhelmina Drucker Jaar 2025.
Increasing exchanges between academic, heritage, and community sectors and needs point to the promise for more applied practices in our knowledge production. Still, though demands for concrete practices following our knowledge production from (affected) communities have been constant, it remains hard to envision durable exchanges between communities and heritage and academic work (which are not mutually exclusive domains).
Op 27 mei 2025 wordt de expositie PAPA in Amsterdam geopend op het IISG, in het kader van Amsterdam 750 jaar. In 2008 richtte Lino Hellings het internationale fotopersbureau Participating Artists’ Press Agency op. Hellings leerde lokale correspondenten te kijken volgens de methode van de PAPA-Fotowandeling, waarbij er foto’s worden gemaakt van dingen waar het oog op valt, zonder een vooropgezet plan. De foto's rijgen zich vanzelf aaneen en zo ontstaat er een verhaal.
