On November 8th Vincent Ducatteeuw, research collaborator at Ghent University, will hold a lecture at the IISH.

Poetin noemde het ‘de grootste geopolitieke catastrofe van de twintigste eeuw’: het uiteenvallen van de Sovjet-Unie. Voor sommigen een ramp, voor anderen juist een historische kans voor de opbouw van democratische, vrije samenlevingen en onafhankelijke staten. Dat deze tegenstellingen dertig jaar later zouden verharden tot een oorlog tussen Rusland en Oekraïne kon toen nog niemand bevroeden.

Raquel Gutiérrez Aguilar will present an overture from her work on the concept of commons/lo(s) común(es), followed by commentary offered by Manuela Zechner, José Luis Vivero Pol, and Deborah Delgado Pugley. We then open the floor to a discussion with the audience.

The International Association on Strikes and Social Conflicts organises:
The Fifth International Conference on Strikes and Social Conflicts that will take place in Rotterdam, Netherlands at the headquarter of the Rotterdam branch of the Dutch Trade Union Confederation (FNV) from 22-24 June 2022. Its objective is to discuss and assess the changing character of strikes and social conflict over the course of capitalist history. The focus is on the lessons learned from the approaches and strategies of trade unions and social movements in terms of responses to the social and economic changes that accompanied globalisation.

On Wednesday 15 June 2022 Open Archief and Pictoright collaboratively organize ‘Re:Use Clinic #1, Archives and Copyright’, a public event for heritage professionals, artists and other interested parties, about creatively reusing heritage collections.
